I first met Heidi, of Refreshing Designs Jewelry, at FanX 2015 (see cosplays and other awesomeness from our experience at FanX 2015 here).

I kept asking people where they got their AMAZING circlets and jewelry, and they sent me to the most popular booth at the con (where I spent all of my birthday money!) I couldn’t resist her gorgeous Elven circlets, bracelets, and necklaces. Actually, my daughter (pictured above wearing my circlet and matching bracelet) couldn’t resist either—I’ve had to fight her for them ever since!

Meet the Artist

Meet Heidi from Refreshing Designs Jewelry:

I have been an artist for years drawing pictures, creating items out of clay, hand painting furniture, and creating jewelry. I love, love, love making jewelry out of wire, and when I found this colorful aluminum wire over ten years ago, I wanted to create a style that’s funky and unique.

The aluminum is a great medium to work with, because it is hypoallergenic, light-weight, and won’t tarnish or turn your skin colors. It is also so bright and cheerful! One of my favorite signature pieces is my Some Wire Over the Rainbow Necklace that I created early on. Now my work has evolved to incorporate my love of all things Lord of the Rings, fantasy and Celtic inspired knot work.

I love coming up with new ideas, and I’m often willing to try custom work when people come to me with ideas.
